How do I join the challenge?

Simply go to ‘Submit Your Miles’ page and log your miles to enter the E-bike raffle! That’s it—you’re in!

Do I need a Strava account to participate?

Nope! We encourage you to join Strava to stay updated on Bike Month Festivities but you may also log your miles manually on our website. Whatever works best for you.

What are the prizes?

There are four ways to win this Bike Month!

1. To start, anyone who bikes 20 miles or more during May and logs them through Strava on the Transportation Alternatives Club page or via our form becomes eligible to win a custom Priority Bicycle courtesy of Upway and NYC Ferry worth $999!

2. Take a selfie on the NYC Ferry in May and win 20% off the NYC Century!

3. Come to TA Bike Club to win 20% NYC Century tickets!

4. Be one of the first 50 to grab a free tune-up at the Upway Center and learn more about upgrading to an E-bike!

Can I participate if I don’t live in NYC?

Yes! As long as you register and log your miles during May, you’re eligible to participate—no matter where you ride. However, unfortunately the Upway x NYC Ferry bicycle courtesy of Priority Bikes is only eligible for pickup in NYC so it is only to open to US residents only.

That said, the challenge is all about celebrating biking in NYC, so we hope you’ll join us on the streets if you can!

When does the challenge start and end?

The challenge runs from May 1 to May 31, 2025. All rides during this time count toward your total. In order to be eligible for the raffle, you must log aminimum of 20 miles.

What kinds of rides count toward my mileage?

All types of rides count—commutes, weekend cruises, errands, joyrides. If you’re pedaling, it counts! Participate in any of the Bike Month rides throughout May to use towards your mileage. We’ll be outdoors celebrating cyclists and handing out giveaways.

Can I ride an e-bike?

Yes! E-bike riders are welcome. Learn more about upgrading to an E-bike at Upway

Do I have to ride all 20 miles in one day?

Nope! You can accumulate miles all month long at your own pace. Once you’ve hit 20 miles, log those miles on the ‘Submit Your Miles’ page!

How will winners be selected?

We’ll randomly pick one winner from everyone who rides 20+ miles to win the custom Upway x NYC Ferry E-bike.

You can celebrate with us at any of the Bike Month rides where there will be TA swag and freebies!

Also be one of the first 50 to grab a free tune up at the Upway Center!

Get discounted tickets to the NYC Century by taking a selfie on the NYC Ferry (tag @transalt) or visiting the TA Bike Club.

How will I know if I’ve won?

We’ll notify winners by email in early June. Make sure you register with an email you check regularly!
